United World College of the Atlantic

It seems that I'm beginning a new chapter within my life, that chapter being located in Wales! I was just notified of my acceptance as a Davis Scholar at The United World College of the Atlantic, near Cardiff, and I can't begin to describe my emotions right now. Living in a Castle, leaving friends, Harry Potter, fantastic second years, I don't even know where to start. Through facebook I've been getting a great deal of help from some really amazing people, primarily helping me to keep my sanity with the whirlwind of choices going on right now.
The goal of this group of "United World Colleges" is to create international relations between a huge amount of cultures, and unite all of us through education, which is one of the things I strongly believe in. I've talked to people from the Czech Republic, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Russia, as well as a the americans there. Also, I'm apparently the only Texan they've had in a long time! So naturally the first time I said "Ya'll" to one of my co-years, they about died laughing. However, I did the same when they said "Crumpets"!
"Atlantic College" is one of the premier International Baccalaureate schools in the world, among
the top 5 academically, as well as one of the
founding schools through how IB is SUPPOSED to be; I know at Westwood IB is all academics, but not so at Atlantic; there's tons of services, fun, groups and activities that accomodate to the students, so I promise you I will be busy! That's actually one reason I'm creating this blog, for the matter that I want to keep everyone updated without having to reply individually to a billion messages [I have the most sincere intentions when i say that]. I'll be there for my senior year, as well as another year, and will travel the world during "Project Week", when I would usually have Spring Break. I'm torn between leaving all of you amazing people, but also ecstatic beyond belief, for yall of you know that this is definitely my cup of tea.

Keep checking on this blog for updates!
Relieved/Happy/Excited,
Kevin
